Australia s best-loved Olympian Cathy Freeman has thrown her weight behind calls for urgent change to ensure there is always an Indigenous voice in federal parliament.
Freeman, now 48, rarely makes major public comments but on National Sorry Day she spoke powerfully in support of constitutional change. The time is now for an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander voice to be enshrined in Australia s Constitution, Freeman tweeted.
