Far too often, people struggle to access care and information about menopause, and that’s particularly the case for people living with HIV. Research has shown that there remain notable gaps in clinical support as well as unmet health needs for people living with HIV who are approaching or experiencing menopause.
Sophia Forum was created to bridge those gaps and many others. Based in the U.K. and launched in 2008, Sophia Forum helps women living with HIV access individualized and holistic care, support, and other services. Now, it also raises awareness about HIV and menopause: The organization published A Guide to Menopause for Women Living With HIV in October 2020.
