It’s getting to be something by which to set a clock. The Marauders made it four NHIAA Division II titles in a row on Sunday, claiming their latest crown in socially distanced fashion at The Workout Club. Interestingly, Hanover did it without winning a single event in the swim portion of the championship, which was held two days after the diving competition.

Hanover High swimming and diving has lived that existence in the winter of COVID-19. The Marauders’ state title efforts got off to a literal flying start on Friday night with seven athletes filling a slimmed-down 17-competitor roster for the NHIAA state diving meet at the CCBA’s Dwinell Pool. Hanover won the Division II girls meet with senior Sophia May, while promising freshman Sam Calderwood took second behind impressive St. Thomas senior Dillon O’Connor among the boys.
