seconds, ago lawyers for the former president took the next step in the effort to force an independent review of materials taken from his florida mansion. they are court. filing, which we just got our hands on a second ago, caps a day of reaction to a justice department filing. and the picture, this one in attachment f, it shows highly classified documents that the fbi says it s found despite written assurance two months prior according to doj. that none remain there. cnn s learned that trump attorney and former ankara christina bob, was one of the people giving that assurance, signing a letter saying. so the doj filing goes on to say the documents were quote, likely concealed and removed from a storage room at mar-a-lago as part of an effort to quote, obstruct, unquote the fbi investigation. it says that some recovered items were so highly classified that even some fbi counter intelligence personnel and others needed additional security clearances to review them. so, that s
doj could not be sptrusted to v the documents. trump s attorney said the filter team at the fbi is using the review the seized papers has virtually unchecked discretion in addressing potential privilege disputes. the judge was appointed by former president trump and has already indicated that she is leaning toward a special master. now, that was before the explosive brief from the justice department. it laid out the months-long effort by federal investigators to get back the government s classified records. cnn senior justice correspondent evan perez is tracking all the developments. he is joining us from washington, so what s happening so far? reporter: well, so far, we don t really know much about what s going on in court. we can t get any updates until the hearing is over, victor and alisyn, but what we know is that the trump team is going to is trying to present to the judge this idea that it is no surprise that there were what they said, sensitive documents that we
than they originally thought they could. you know, the judge move really swiftly today. it was less than four hours after he received prosecutors for post redactions let he ruled that what they propose would, in fact, be sufficient, that it should be released to the public by noon tomorrow. and the reason it s interesting that this judge came to such a quick conclusion is that when doj argued in court last week, they said that any redactions could be so extensive that it would make the entire affidavit completely devoid of content, in their words. when they said that, the judge pushback and he argued, look, there must be something that you can release. so, it does seem that maybe doj has come up with a version, obviously that s satisfying to the judge, even though, of course, huge portions of this are likely to be blacked out, anderson. what s parts can be expected to be redacted? yeah, so we likely won t see any information that relates to the investigation itself becaus
