Just six games remain until the Oklahoma Sooners head to Oklahoma City for the Big 12 Tournament.
To date, OU is a dominant 37-1, only stubbing their toe in the front end of a double-header in Georgia just two days after capping off an emotional sweep of Texas.
Patty Gasso’s No. 1-ranked Sooners on are pace to rewrite almost every offensive record to date by the time a champion is crowned this June in OKC, but somehow they still may have another level they’ve yet to achieve.

NORMAN The Texas Tech Red Raiders hung tough with the No. 1-ranked Oklahoma Sooners early on Sunday, but a massive fourth inning pushed the Sooners to a 20-0 run-rule, sweeping the weekend series at Marita Hynes Field.
Oklahoma s first two batters set the tone in the first inning.

Jocelyn Alo two-run blast to put OU ahead just seven pitches into the game.
One inning later, Oklahoma looked to be threatening again as they loaded up the bases with two outs for Alo’s second plate appearance.

In the first game of a doubleheader, the No. 1-ranked Sooners run-ruled Texas Tech 15-0 in their Big 12 series opener at Marita Hynes Field.
OU improved to 35-1 overall and 10-0 in Big 12 play, while Texas Tech fell to 18-21 and 2-11.
Mackenzie Donihoo had two hits and three RBIs,
Lynnsie Elam drove in three runs and
Jana Johns and
Giselle Juarez (13-0) pitched three scoreless innings for the win, while
Brooke Vestal and Olivia Rains each got in a single scoreless inning in relief.
OU came into the weekend coming off a doubleheader split at No. 20 Georgia the Sooners’ first loss of the season.

The junior from Frisco, TX, is the 14th Sooner to win the league s most prestigious academic-athletic honor

Emma LaPinta was recognized for her commitment in the classroom as the 2021 Big 12 Gymnastics Co-Scholar Athlete of the Year, the conference office announced Wednesday.
A native of Frisco, TX, LaPinta is the first Sooner in program history to receive the award, which was created by the Big 12 prior to the 2012-13 academic year. LaPinta shared the honor with junior
Alexis Vasquez of Denver.
LaPinta, a communications major, boasts a 4.0 GPA and 90 percent participation in 2021. She is a two-time Academic All-Big 12 First Team honoree (2020, 2021) and a 2019 Academic All-Rookie selection. LaPinta is also a two-time WCGA Scholastic All-American.
