Olean’s only contests in the June 22 primary will be in Ward 4.
Ezra L. Johnson and Sonya M. McCall are running for the Democratic nomination; David F. Paone and Linda M. Edstrom are seeking the Republican nomination. The seat has been vacant since February when Ward 4 Alderman Kevin Dougherty resigned.
Also in the Greater Olean area, Ryan W. Hatch and Todd J. Shaw are opposing each other in the Republican primary for highway superintendent in Portville. Shaw is the incumbent.
