Barely a day after Firdous Ashiq Awan s uncivil display of unwarranted aggression towards Assistant Commissioner Sonia Sadaf, PTI MPA Khurram Sohail Leghari was heard threatening Jatoi Assistant Commissioner Mohammad Arshad Virk in in a leaked telephone call making all of us wonder if this rage is just restricted to local bazaars or is a persistent issue for government officials in Pakistan.
In the audio, the MPA who is a member of the price control committee and received complaints about shortage of food items at Ramazan bazaars, wanted to survey the place. However, Virk s phone battery depleted during the call and his phone died, causing Leghari to blow up.

LAHORE: Reacting to yesterday s episode in which she scolded the Assistant Commissioner Sialkot Sonia Sadaf, Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan defended her actions, saying public representatives were answerable to the masses.
The Punjab chief minister s advisor spoke on the incident, saying that the attitude by the assistant commissioner was disappointing. She said Chief Minister Usman Buzdar had asked for a report to be submitted on the matter, adding that he had also expressed displeasure over the public having to stand in long queues to buy sugar.

Special Assistant to Punjab Chief Minister (SACM) Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan claimed on Monday that people were colouring the Sialkot incident in which she humiliated a female assistant commissioner in public during a visit to a Ramazan Bazaar to create conflict between government officials and public representatives .
Addressing a press conference in Lahore, Awan disclosed that she decided to approach Prime Minister Imran Khan and Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar for advice on how to handle the controversy.
She said she visited the bazaar to fight for the people and not for a specific family , adding that the people, who were trying to colour the incident according to their own [interests] instead of sympathising with the public in order to create a conflict between the bureaucracy and the government, would be disappointed.
