Shoppers thronging the seafood section at Chinatown Wet Market on Feb 2, 2021. - The Straits Times/Asian News Network SINGAPORE, Feb. 2 (The Straits Times/ANN): Hundreds of shoppers were seen inside the wet market that is situated on the basement of the Chinatown Complex on Tuesday (Feb 2) morning.
They were hoping to stock up on seafood and ingredients for steamboat dishes ahead of Chinese New Year reunion dinners next week.
When the Straits Times visited the market on Tuesday, more than 120 people were queueing to enter through the one entrance that was manned by safety management officers.
Shoppers were seen entering the market through four other entrances but no safe management officers were seen at those sites.
