GARDEN ROUTE NEWS - Young scientists eager to enter the provincial leg of the Eskom Expo for Young Scientists in August are hard at work attending day camps and online workshops where they share their brilliant ideas. Learners were afforded opportunities since the beginning of the year, said Provincial admin assistant Sonet Strydom. Each online workshop was held on two separate days, making participation easier and ensuring progress with their projects.

GARDEN ROUTE NEWS - Four learners from the Eden / Karoo district excelled with their science projects at the virtual award ceremony for the Eskom Expo for Young Scientists competition.
Entering as a team, Nosiphiwe Nosi and Lelethu Ngqele (Grade 11) of Murray High School in KwaNokuthula, Plettenberg Bay, received gold for their project, Smart Sanitary Pad, under the category Biomedical and Medica Science.
Chloe Parry (Grade 10) at Bridgton Secondary School in Oudtshoorn received bronze for her project, Chewing equals Brain Power, under the category Social Sciences, and Thimna Sijama (Grade 9), also from Murray High School, won bronze under the category Social Sciences with her project, Water Solutions.
