An animal boarding and daycare business, a self-storage facility for boats and an indoor private pool facility have been granted conditional-use permits.
Public hearings on each business were held prior to City Councilâs action on Jan. 21.
Conditional-use permits allow businesses to operate in areas where zoning does not match the proposed use. It is different from a rezoning as it applies only to one specific business, not an entire area.
Petsuites is a nationally franchised business with 40 locations throughout the U.S. The Westlake facility could consist of a new, 6,700-square-foot building at 901 Sharon Drive north of Detroit Road.
