Third-generation owner Dick Plotkin said it was too early to determine plans for his business Sunday afternoon after a fire ravaged the downtown Scranton building and destroyed $90,000 worth of footwear inventory.
âI canât even think about that yet,â said Plotkin, who lives in the cityâs East Mountain section. âAll I can think about is how Iâm going to pay the next portion of bills the next couple months. We will try to figure out the next move.â
Crews spent more than five hours Saturday night and Sunday morning battling a blaze at the J.G. Plotkin & Son Shoe Co. building at Linden Street and Penn Avenue, Fire Chief John Judge said.
