nobody has told joe yet. instead of hitting the campaign trail and talking to voters, president biden was cooped up with dnc staffers. i bet it smelled wonderful. biden giving a rousing pep talk on how his party has it in the bag. we re running against the tide and beating the tide. we the democrats are the ones that are fiscally responsible. let s get that straight now. republicans are fiscally reckless, pushing tax cuts for the very wealthy that aren t paid for, and exploiting the deficit that is making inflation worse. republicans are determined to hold the economy hostage, either give into their demands on social security and medicare which millions of americans rely on and paid for, and republicans will crash the economy. that is rousing. if biden s blame the republicans strategy fails to catch on, there s a nancy pelosi method of changing the subject. it s about getting out the vote. everything else is a conversation compared to that. in order to do that, you
white house correspondent jacqui heinrich starts us off live tonight from the north lawn. good evening, jacqui. good evening to you you, bret. we are witnessing a late shift in democratic messaging as it were from all in on abortion to counter punching the g.o.p. on the economy. but there s some gray area with the president s claims. president biden wants to undo the thinking that his policies will hurt democrats in the midterms. everybody wants to make it a referendum but it s a choice between two vastly different visions for america. some on the left admit signs of trouble ahead. i am worried about the level of voter turnout among young people and working people who will be voting democratic. [gavel] others like the house speaker at risk of losing her gavel trying to manifest results by staying optimistic. the fact is that we fully intend to win. was i not clear? we are going to win this election. vote, vote, vote, vote. biden tried to steer the ship at pe
