patriot, a beloved houstonian and a friend of the team. and the texans beat the browns 29-13 today. we also heard today from george h. w. s son neil and his grandson pierce. he s had such an incredible impact, not because he s a lecturer or because he was trying to tell us how to behave but because he led such an amazing life as a role model, probably the best man i know in terms of everything you would want in a man. he was a great husband, amazing dad. he was just the kindest most decent human being, an incredible grand father and father. and so there s a sadness, but there s also a relief that he s in a better place. pierce says his grand father died with zero regrets and that they will spend the next five days celebrating the life of the
known. you have known them so long. it s obviously impossible to get inside his head right now. but this obviously has to be heartbreaking for him. of course it does. their marriage was so solid, so enduring, the family was such a success. they had a tragedy when robin, the little girl, died at the age of 3. we know who all the other members of the family were. they have all done well and prospered. one of course became himself president, served two terms. governor jeb bush, son neil, dorothy, marvin bush, a man we all know around washington, terrific success in business. these people were close to one another. they were close to her. their admiration for their parents was palpable when you saw them altogether. there was a fair amount of teasing and some friendly competition, but this was an unusually close family. they set a kind of example for the family of family life, family values, family we could all look up to and admire and
