Flames that erupted about 6 30 this morning. Fire crews arrived in time to see two duplexes side by side both completely involved in fire, quickly to three alarms because of the gusty winds and 12 engines, 135 to 140 firefighters. It took them 40 minutes to contain the fire, an hour and a half to get it under control, and what i understand from those residents and neighbors nearby, only one person in those two duplexes was home at the time of the fire. She tells me that she got out when her smoke alarm went off, but her roommates and people next door, everybody in the two buildings, out of town. Only two cats were injured. No injuries to the woman living downstairs and none of the firefighters were injured. The woman who lives in one of the damaged apartments told me that her building has experienced some serious electrical problems in the past month. The power was out for several weeks. She said she didnt put up any Christmas Decorations out of concern it might be a fire hazard. Right
While the thirsty south bay definitely needs rain experts at the santa clara Water District says this storm will do very little to change the big picture. Unfortunately wthe current levels in our reservoir and the current snow pack and current water conditions in the delta, this rain will help a very small amount but wont have an overall benefit to us. They learned to go with the flow, having lunch al frisco on the back of a motorcycle and doing homework in the back of a car. Police say he ran naked into two homes and attacked a woman on the street. Kimberly tere is in palo alto with more for us. Kimberly. Reporter diane, this all happened on friday night at about 9 00, and police say they believe the 18yearold was on some kind of narcotic at the time. According to authorities a naked taky glenn minaki went into one of the homes on the 1100 block of colorado, charged after a kid punched him and took off from that home. From there he allegedly tackled a woman who was out walking her dog. Police say he grabbed her from behind and then punched and kicked her numerous times while she was on the ground, calling for help. At this point a neighbor opened his door to find out what the commotion was and police say minaki charged into his home. Says he kicked the teenagers in the stomach which send him running off and ran off into a culdesac where police found him.
