The broadcast featured a bevy of 3D virtual Marvel characters, animation, and comic book graphics along with Marvel and NBA trivia. It also weaved a fictional Avengers storyline into the on-court action, which was narrated by the trio of play-by-play man Ryan Ruocco, analyst Richard Jefferson, and Marvel s resident nerd and podcast host Angelique Roche dropping neverending Marvel references ( Andrew s up to 20 Hero points! That s the bicep of a superhero, Wakanda forever for the dunk! etc. etc.)
The Avengers mission for the broadcast: recruiting a real-life hero from this contest of all-star athletes to train and help Earth s Mightiest Heroes including Iron Man, Captain America, Black Panther, Black Widow, and Doctor Strange fight off yet another alien invasion.
In the two-minute-long preview, we get a look at Marvel s first movie featuring an Asian protagonist. There s a glimpse at Shang-Chi (played by Simu Liu) growing up with his family, who were kind enough to spend a decade training him as an assassin. When he hits his twenties, Shang-Chi leaves his family for a life where he doesn t have to beat people up and gets to spend all of his time hanging with Awkwafina. Of course, the terrorist organization that goes by the 10 Rings which is led by none other than Shang-Chi s father, Wenwu, AKA The Mandarin eventually comes calling. The trailer is as action-packed as you d hope, teasing what just might be Marvel s kung-fu masterpiece.
Avengers: New characters that could fill the Phase 4 team

As Marvel Studios slowly but surely gets the ball rolling on Phase 4 of their Cinematic Universe, fans should be realizing that for all the content there is planned - and there is a great deal of it - the majority of it really only covers 2021-2022. That means that audiences could have a new Avengers movie as early as 2023!
The classic team have apparently hung up the spurs. Black Widow and Iron Man are dead (for now), Captain America is old and retired (again - for now), Hawkeye is retired to his family farm life (yes that s right - for now) and Thor is off exploring space with the Asgardians of the Galaxy . Bruce Banner is the only guy still apparently operating out of the Avengers facility in upstate New York, if only to send Captain America on his trip through time to return the Infinity Stones.
