Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal announced the Delhi Solar Policy 2024, offering generation-based incentives for rooftop solar panel installations. The policy also requires government buildings with an area of 500 square metres to install solar panels within three years. Atishi, the Power Minister of Delhi, stated that the policy was approved by the Cabinet and will be implemented in 10 days.
In Delhi, up to 200 units are billed at zero, from 201 to 400 units, half the bill, and no subsidy above that. However, after the implementation of this new policy, those who install solar panels on their homes will have a zero electricity bill, along with an additional income of Rs 700-900 per month., Delhi News, Times Now
Kejriwal, while addressing a press conference here, said that till now the solar policy of 2016 was in force, and was the most progressive policy of the country, he claimed.
