Speaker, i want to start by thanking the 63 members of the Armed Services committee, not only for all of their work in putting this bill together but for the seriousness with which they take our duties under the constitution to help provide for the common defense. Our members dont always agree, but were able to work our way through our differences most of the time and think about the larger cause. You might say we sacrifice some of our individual differences or preferences in order to support the men and women who sacrifice so much for us. And i want to thank all the members of the house. That it started burning about 10 30 this morning and they have already spread across 6,500 acres more than 4,000 people are under mandatory evacuation orders at this hour. Up north cal fire says that crews are making Good Progress on the clayton fire burning in lake county. That fire has burned 4,000 acres, the same number as yesterday. That means that it is not growing. They also say that it is now 20 contained with full containment expected for this sunday. Some evacuated areas also reopened this afternoon. An estimated 175 structures have been destroyed when this fire blew up on sunday afternoon. The man suspected of deliberately starting the fire.
