The San Joaquin County Sheriff’s Office did not release a report on bookings and jail capacity in the 24 hours ending at 8 a.m. Saturday.

Shooting into a vehicle: At 11:20 a.m. Friday, officers responded to the 3300 block of West Hammer Lane at Interstate 5, where the male victim, 28, and female victim, 25, were seated in their vehicle when it was shot by an unknown suspect. A witness advised the gunfire came from a black coupe.
Weapon arrest: At 4:30 p.m. Friday, officers conducted a traffic enforcement stop at Santa Paula and Acapulco ways and the suspect, Ronnie Gaines, 49, was found to be in possession of firearms and ammunition and arrested on suspicion of weapons charges.
