Local Eats: Wagyu double smash burger a popular special at Flint’s Soggy Bottom Bar

And the taste has inspired a specialty menu item at the popular Flint bar.
While cooking dinner for himself at home, Dyer tried his hand at a Wagyu steak. That’s when the idea struck.
“I knew right then I wanted to make a burger with Wagyu meat, specifically a smash burger,” Dyer said. “And people really seem to be enjoying it, which is so awesome to see.”
The 2011 Carman-Ainsworth High School graduate has worked as a cook at Soggy Bottom for the last five years. He was thankful to have the opportunity to try the idea, which has since become a popular weekly special for the last two months.
The solidarity march is scheduled to take place at 5 p.m. Saturday, March 13 starting at the Black Lives Matter mural near Soggy Bottom Bar, 613 Martin Luther King Ave., and will continue with a march down Saginaw Street to the Flint Police Department.
