(Seguin) – Texas Lutheran Softball, the No. 1-ranked team and defending national champion of NCAA Division III, will host an NCAA Softball Regional this Friday, Saturday, and Sunday at TLU’s Ed Kruse Stadium – Morck Softball Field.
The NCAA Division III Softball Committee made the announcement at noon Monday regarding the 48 teams that will compete in the Division III Softball Championship.
Six teams each will compete at the eight regional sites.
The national championship finals, hosted by Old Dominion Athletic Conference and city of Salem, will be held May 27-June 1 at Moyer Park in Salem, Va.

Duke starter Shelby Walters (17-3) earned the win in her five innings, while Payton St. George entered the game in the sixth inning and retired all six batters she faced to earn the two-inning save and deliver the third-seeded Blue Devils their first ever ACC Championship in just their fourth season.

Michigan’s softball team boasts one of the best records in NCAA softball this season at 32-6.
It also has the third-lowest ERA nationally and has already locked up the Big Ten title with four games remaining.
However, it is no guarantee that the Wolverines will be one of the 16 teams to host a NCAA regional.
Tiger Park selected as one of 20 predetermined championship host sites

INDIANAPOLIS. (WAFB) - LSU softball has been chosen as one of the 20 predetermined championship host sites for this upcoming postseason the NCAA Division I Softball Committee announced on Friday, April 30.
Due to the ongoing pandemic the NCAA decided it was necessary to predetermine the 20 host sites. Of the 20 the committee will chose 16 to host regional round games and eight of those will be in contention to host the Super Regionals.
Participating teams and the final 16 predetermined sites will be revealed during the selection show on Sunday, May 16, at 8 p.m. CT on ESPN2.
