Gators softball (29-4) will play two games against Western Kentucky (15-5) and an exhibition against Softball Canada this Saturday and Sunday. Florida head coach Tim Walton announced the addition of Western Kentucky to the schedule on Tuesday. The Gators previously only had Softball Canada on their schedule for the weekend.
The Gators will host Western Kentucky at 11 a.m. on Saturday and later Softball Canada at 1:30 p.m. Then they’ll wrap up the weekend against the Hilltoppers on Sunday at 11 a.m. The two games against Western Kentucky will air on SEC Network+.
Gators’ Success
Florida continued their winning ways with a doubleheader sweep of USF on Wednesday. The No. 5 Gators cruised to a six-inning 9-1 victory in the first game of the doubleheader and won in a narrower second game, 2-1.

Echols Leads Gator Softball to Doubleheader Sweep of USF
Charla Echols stepped to the plate in the first inning of the first game of a doubleheader against USF with two runners on base. She blasted the third pitch in the at-bat over the fence in right-center field to give the Gators an early 3-0 lead in the first game of the doubleheader.
Canadian Women’s National Softball Team returns to Rent One Park to prepare for Tokyo Olympics
Marion, IL (April 7, 2021) – The Canadian Wild of Southern Illinois have announced their schedule for the upcoming 2021 season. The Wild, made up entirely of softball players from the Canadian Women’s National Team, will be training and competing in Marion, Illinois in preparation for the Tokyo 2020 Summer Olympic Games that will be played from July 21-27.
The Wild will play a 16-game schedule at Rent One Park from Friday, May 28, through Saturday, June 19, including Saturday doubleheaders on May 29, June 5, and June 19. All games and times are subject to change.
