English as a Second Language classes to start online Jan 12

January 5, 2021 The Lutheran Church of Our Savior announced online registration is open for free virtual 
English as a Second Language classes with sessions beginning  Tuesday, Jan. 12, and ending Thursday, March 18. Classes will be held from 9 to 11 a.m. and 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., Tuesdays and Thursdays.   There is no charge for the virtual classes, which are being held via Zoom.

 In operation since 2004, the ESL Program at the Lutheran Church of Our Savior is the largest of its kind in Sussex County. Free classes for adults at proficiency levels from beginner to advanced are offered, focusing on social interaction, vocabulary and conversation, grammar, writing and reading comprehension.

SoDel Concepts raises $101K for SoDel Cares philanthropy

On Giving Tuesday, 100 percent of the proceeds from dine-in and carryout sales benefitted SoDel Cares, the philanthropic arm of SoDel Concepts. On Dec. 1, Bluecoast Seafood Grill in Rehoboth and 11 other restaurants donated 100 percent of carryout and dine-in sales to SoDel Cares. SoDel Concepts, a Rehoboth Beach-based hospitality group, raised $101,045 on Dec. 1 for SoDel Cares, the company’s philanthropic arm. On that day, which was Giving Tuesday, 100 percent of the proceeds of the 12 restaurants’ in-house and carryout sales went to the charity, which helps local organizations assisting children, the elderly, and at-risk youth and adults in southern Delaware communities.
