This is Al Jazeera America live from new york city. Im stephanie sy. New video is leading to more questions this morning in the death of a young woman in a texas jail cell. Authorities have released surveillance tapes showing the moment an da bland was found dead inside her cell. The Sheriffs Department says she committed suicide, but the District Attorney says he intends to treat this case like a murder investigation. Reporter in this video, you can see a gurney being wheeled down a hall towards Sandra Blands holding cell but it comes out a short time later with only medical equipment on it. Instead of a rescue. It is now a death investigation. The District Attorney says it is too early to say who is responsibility. This investigation is still being treated just as it would be a murder investigation. There are many questions being raised here in Waller County in the state of texas, the country, and around the world about this case. It needs a thorough and exhaustive review. Reporter b
Its all happened on turk street between franklin and van ness. A short time later police found the suspects car in the Buena Vista Park neighborhood. You can see the crime tape from our nbc bay area sky ranger. Police issued shelter in place for Buena Vista Park while they hunted for the suspect. A short while ago our inves investgaitive unit broke the news. Its been a tough day for sfpd. Heres what they have to say. I just spoke with some of the officers from the station and everyone right now is having a tough time with this. I asked the public to keep the officer in their prayers. This is looking east from over and at pahrump. And heis overlook. You cant even really see the mountains this morning down in henderson but you can see it clears out rather noticeably. Wind speeds at top right now are 10 to 15 miles an hour. 11 miles an hour down in southeast las vegas. And generally blowing from the southwest although they are starting to swing west southwest.
