Getting a college degree has always been Yaneth Garcia’s goal. Neither of her parents graduated high school and she is the first of her three siblings to have the chance to pursue a higher education. She is now in the final semester at WSU and will graduate in May with a degree in mechanical engineering..
Newly elected ASSU Executives Sophia Danielpour ’24 and Kyle Haslett ’25 were among a slate of candidates that won on platforms of “fun” in this year’s ASSU elections, which drew the highest voter turnout since 2020.
Huerta, on behalf of the ASSU Appropriations Committee, aims to reaffirm support for student groups on campus following the committee's rejection of numerous annual grants this past cycle. He writes, "I have worked with a great committee who have made all of the funding that student organizations receive possible"
Of the 200 VSOs who applied for annual grant funding, only 29 VSOs are getting the full monetary amount they requested. Groups that received significant funding cuts include the Kappa Sigma fraternity, Stanford Lion Dance, Stanford Transfers Network, and the Stanford India Economic and Policy Club.

Somerville, MA (December 19, 2020) In a student-wide referendum on November 24th, 2020 led by Tufts Students for Justice in Palestine (SJP), the Tufts student body voted overwhelmingly to End the Deadly Exchange at Tufts. The ‘Deadly Exchange’ refers to US Police Departments’ participation in trips taken to Israel in which high ranking officials train with the Israeli military, police, and security forces to exchange ‘worst practices.’
