Rare planetary conjunction: Five planets of solar system to be visible in special order from Friday

In a rare planetary conjunction, five major planets namely, Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter and Saturn, in our solar system will be visible brightly in a row from Friday. These planets can be seen through the naked eye alone if the sky is clear. The best time to witness them is before dawn. This conjunction is special as it includes Mercury, which is generally obscured from the view by the bright light of the Sun. Not just this, these planets will also be visible in the order in which they are positioned from the Sun.

Jupiter and Venus will seem to nearly collide in rare celestial spectacle

Jupiter and Venus, two of the solar system’s brightest planets, will appear to almost touch in a rare celestial spectacle this weekend. Although in reality they will be millions of miles apart, for stargazers on Earth they will appear to be close enough to almost collide in a planetary conjunction that occurs once a year.

Venus and Jupiter are about 430 million miles apart, but viewed from Earth they appear to be almost touching in a rare celestial spectacle enjoyed by stargazers, known as a planetary conjunction.

Rare celestial spectacle: Jupiter, Venus to appear to collide with each other, form line with Saturn, Mars

In what can be called a rare celestial spectacle, the solar system’s two brightest planets, Jupiter and Venus, will appear to collide with each other this weekend, said media reports.   But they will actually be millions of miles apart in space.   On Earth, they will appear as if they are going to collide. This planetary conjunction, however, occurs once a year.
