Shares of oil company YPF Sociedad Anonima (YPF) jumped 34% on Monday morning. U.S.-traded shares of Argentine companies, including, YPF, rose sharply after Javier Milei won the country's presidency.
There are several types of corporations in Costa Rica, but the most common is the Sociedad Anonima, or S.A., pronounced “essay-ah.” The initials S.A. follow the company name, similar to the abbreviations Inc. or LLC (Limited Liability Corporation) in the United States.
