you reported on the new brazilian criminal investigation that there is an extension of an investigation that began years ago, that involving a stolen checkbook. what more can you tell us about that? that s right, lawrence. thanks so much for having me and being with me through these tech problems. yeah, the case actually started back in 2008, when george santos was just 19 years old. and he had stolen the checkbook of a man that his mother used to work for and used it to make a couple of fraudulent purchases. police were involved after the shopkeeper made a complaint, and investigation. the case took a couple of years to wind its way through the system. but eventually, mr. santos his mother both appeared before police and admitted to the crime. mr. santos also admitted the crime to the shopkeeper himself in a social media message that we were able to obtain. but mr. santos s was later
