YAOUNDE, April 7 (Xinhua) Cameroon s Minister of Social Affairs Pauline Irene Nguene on Wednesday pledged to crack down on human-trafficking rackets as well as any officials who may be involved in the malpractice.
The pledge was made by the minister during a meeting in the capital Yaounde to present a study conducted by the ministry and International Organisation for Migration (IOM) on the situation of human trafficking and smuggling of migrants in the Central African nation.
According to the study, most of those trafficked are women, children and people living with disabilities. Many people have become slaves.
