The stretch from Baiyappanahalli metro station to RMZ Infinity, an area bustling with activity due to the presence of major IT parks, paints a grim picture of urban neglect, states the residents. Open drains, encroached vendors, dumped garbage, construction debris, and flowing drains converge, creating a hazardous path for pedestrians.
Residents had been consistently communicating with BDA officials to restore the road. Their persistent appeals led to road tarring, but within a short span of three months, the road was dug up once more. The residents alleged that the contractor carrying out the work was as well in a drunk state and had damaged portions of the footpath and other parts of the road where there was no requirement of laying an underground pipeline.
