The eight Long Island veterans will join others from around the country for the trip to the National World War II Museum, where they will document their stories, accompanied by 20 students from Wantagh High School.
United States Army Private First Class Joseph Eskenazi, 105-years-old, was invited to the museum as a part of The Gary Sinise Foundation's Soaring Valor Program. For the last eight years, the Soaring Valor program has invited WWII veterans to the museum that was built in their honor.
Ryan served 13 years as the GCISD superintendent and, pending board approval, will serve his last day on Jan. 1, 2023. He will however remain an employee of the district until Aug. 31, 2023 to assist with the leadership transition.
