how many people have left this administration on good terms with the president, even though she has, in the past, disagreed with him on some issues? you pointed out russia. and sitting in the oval office with her own moment without any kind of tension with her script, and that s the way she wants to leave, before the election, which has an uncertain, you know, outcome certainly for the republicans. this way if she leaves after the election, there is going to be a lot of departures. she would become a footnote in the resignation or firing of jeff sessions, and the sort of checkerboard of people leaving. now she has a full day or more as the lead story. and jeremy peters, andrea raises so many interesting points there. number one, how few have come away from this crowd with their reputation, a, burnished but b, even undamaged. and it occurs to me that nikki haley and dina powell are two of those names on that short list. also, jeremy, let s stick up for the new york times.
