example of that. a major snowstorm is pushing east as people try to head home from holiday celebrations. jennifer gray has our forecast. yeah, this is going to be a big one. there s two sides to it. a snowy side and a severe side to the south. we will start with the snow threat and blizzard conditions are possible. we are talking about winter storm warnings from southern colorado all the way up to the midwest, and we could see appear foot to a foot and a half of snow across some of these areas shaded in pink. of course, a foot of snow possible across much of minnesota. the southern side, the severe side, we are going to see rain across the south and this will impact travel from coast-to-coast and we could see hail, damaging winds and isolated tornadoes. this is mainly for texas, and all of that rain is pushing east
whatsoever. unfortunately, there is another storm this weekend that will be moving through the southern half of the country. and there s a chance it could move up the coast for another nor easter come monday. we ll talk about the possibility of that coming up. our friends in d.c. have a snow threat with that one. i ve been in d.c. when there s a snow threat. it s a good thing. this one is a coin flip, but it is at least a chance. heading across the pond where british prime minister theresa may is accusing jeremy corbyn of man splaining. corbin attacked may for meeting with the crown prince of saudi arabia. a nation that has made strides to increase women s rights. may responded sarcastically adding, i think that s what s called man-splaining.
a lot of folks told me that they were woken up by some strong winds last night. this is our beast from the northeast, and it is going to be a significant weather maker, so it is going to sit and sell and bring the potential for flooding rainfall, hurricane force winds, we actually have warnings for parts of long island and so and back of this. we are going to see some impressive snow and it pennsylvania and new york. you can see that we have the line here of the flood threats and then the snow threat, and they went as well. 45 miles per hour. new york not reporting right now, baltimore at a 40. big deal. this is a big storm. potentially life-threatening with the flood threats, and we have this is almost like a hurricane when it starts to really get its act together. just starting to strengthen right now across the atlantic. and again, the winds are going
for more aggressive launch schedule. that s cool. did you hear what they want to do next? they want to do the same rocket within 4 hours. think about that. that would just be incredible feat. think about saving so much money. anyway, let s get to weather. what have you got? obviously, the nor easter on the east coast, heavy rain, severe weather threat, snow threat. just everything in between. the snow has broken out and now coming down pretty good from albany, new york, up to saratoga. roads should stay warm enough to stay just wet. the yellow is steady rain. d.c., philly, new york, baltimore, rain event for you during the day today. the blue is showing you where the snow is. that s going to be as we go throughout the day today. it continues into tonight. this is a slow-moving storm. it stays all blue here. right through much of even saturday. this is like a 24-hour, 36-hour event for some areas in new england. boston won t clear out until after the dinner hour tomorrow. other
