This time next week, Elon Musk will be getting ready to hit the stage at 30 Rock for his hosting debut on
Saturday Night Live. Even after backlash from fans and castmembers alike, it appears NBC is still moving forward with the entrepreneur s hosting gig as Saturday afternoon, Musk started soliciting skit suggestions from fans on social media. Throwing out some skit ideas for SNL. What should I do? the SpaceX head asked his 52 million Twitter followers. In a thread, he laid down some ideas most of which appear to be jokes in and off themselves, hopefully while taking suggestions from his fans and followers.
Is Elon Musk Hosting Saturday Night Live Tonight?
For the third straight week, there will be no new episode of
Saturday Night Live tonight. Currently on an extended hiatus before the final batch of episodes for the season, the hit sketch comedy show will return on May 8th. In fact, the Lorne Michaels-led show will likely dominate much of the news cycle for the next week for its choice in hiring Elon Musk as its host.
As with previous weeks where no new episodes are scheduled, NBC will instead air two encores in its place. Beginning at 10 p.m. Eastern, an episode from 2015 featuring Taraji P. Henson and Mumford & Sons will air. In the show s normal time slot at 11:30 p.m. Eastern, there s another encore scheduled, though NBC hasn t revealed which one will air ahead of time. Typically the second slot is reserved for a rerun from the current season the show is on.
Saturday Night Live Enlists Nick Jonas for Double Duty as Host and Musical Guest
Nick Jonas is returning to
Saturday Night Live. Announced Saturday morning, the musician will take to the show next weekend, rounding out the month on Saturday, February 27th. In the first twofer of the season, Jonas will be serving as both host and musical guest. Though it s his hosting debut, it will be Jonas fourth time performing music on the show, having previously once as a solo artist and twice as part of The Jonas Brothers.
Next week s episode will likely be the last new episode before a late winter break. Though Season 45 was greatly impacted by the onset of the COVID pandemic this time last year, the series took a one-week break at the end of February the year prior, in Season 44.
