Alongside the larger upgrades for the 4 Series, 5 Series and 6 Series Gran Turismo, BMW has also announced some smaller updates for the rest of its lineup, available from this summer onwards. Lots of these include new colour and trim options for a number of models but there are also some new features in store.
Buyers of the G20 3 Series will be able to choose from a range of Sensatec faux leather upholstery choices, in addition to the usual fabric, Vernasca leather and BMW Individual Merino leather trims. They can also spec their car in the fetching BMW Individual Aventurine Red metallic paint.

The timing of the BMW 2 Series Gran Coupé couldn t have been better for us last year. We were just out of the COVID-19 lockdown and were itching to hit the roads. Well! So much so that Siddharth took it straight to the mountains of the Mussoorie valley for a proper engaging experience behind the wheel. And honestly! It did a commendable job of beating his lockdown blues, despite being a front wheel drive (FWD) model. Arguably, the best driving road in the world can be found in Romania the Transfagarasan Highway. The 90 kilometre serpentine stretch of tarmac that snakes through the Carpathian mountains is not only the most incredible collection of fantastic corners but it slices through breathtaking mountain scenery. It might not be as pretty as the Stelvio but, if you like driving, it’s arguably the better driving road. In these new photos, we can see a BMW M5 Competition knife its way through those corners with all of its 617 horsepower, twin-turbocharged V8 might.
Admittedly for a road like the Transfagarasan, you might want a smaller, lighter, less powerful car than the M5. Visions of overcooking a high-altitude corner with no barriers in a 600-plus horsepower, 4,000 lb sedan are giving me the willies. However, the BMW M5 Competition is an astonishingly capable car, so it should be able to tackle Romania’s greatest road with ease.
