Qualcomm introduced the Snapdragon 870 as an upgrade to Snapdragon 865 Plus yesterday. motorola has confirmed that it will introduce motorola edge with the SoC in China on January 26th. Based on earlier rumours this is codenamed “nio” and some rumours said that it is expected to be launched under the moto G series.
The phone is expected to run Android 11 out of the box, feature a 6.7-inch (2520×1080 resolution) Full HD+ 90Hz screen, pack 8GB of RAM, 256GB storage, 64MP rear camera along with 16MP-ultrawide, and a 2 MP depth sensor, 16MP + 8MP dual front cameras, and a 5000mAh battery. The phone is also said to support DisplayPort Alternate Mode for video output over a USB-C cable.

Qualcomm has launched the Snapdragon 870 chipset. It has been announced as a follow-up to the flagship Snapdragon 865 Plus chipset which features an enhanced Kryo 585 CPU prime core clocked at a speed of up to 3.2 GHz. Qualcomm claims the new Snapdragon 870 is designed to deliver even better performance across the board for geared-up gameplay with insanely fast Qualcomm Snapdragon Elite Gaming experiences . It also offers 5G at sub-6 GHz and mmWave, and ultra-intuitive AI .
Today, Qualcomm introduced the Snapdragon 870 5G Mobile Platform. Using the same Kryo 585 cores that were included in the Snapdragon 865, it now gets a clock speed of up to 3.2GHz.
