The much-awaited iQOO 7 smartphone has been launched in India today with a price starting at Rs 31,990 for the base 8GB RAM and 128GB storage model. With the new iQOO 7, the Chinese smartphone manufacturer aims to take on the likes of the OnePlus 9R, which was launched alongside the OnePlus 9 and 9 Pro earlier this year. The iQOO 7 and the OnePlus 9R pack some common features such as 5G support, Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 SoC, among others. While the iQOO 7 starts at a lower price of Rs 31,999, the OnePlus 9R settles for a slightly higher price at Rs 39,999. For anyone who balks at the price of the OnePlus 9 Pro ( ₹64,999) or even the regular OnePlus 9 (₹49,999) there’s another option. It’s an India-only model called the OnePlus 9R and it’s the least expensive of the series with its starting price of ₹39,999. But it’s ironic that not too long ago, this price point would have been the ‘flagship killer’ that offered about as good value as phones that had no business costing as much as they do. Earlier, this device was rumoured to be the OnePlus 9E, however, more recent leaks have suggested that the phone will be called the OnePlus 9 Lite.
