San Francisco: Chipmaker Qualcomm has launched the new Snapdragon 778G 5G mobile platform that is designed to deliver cutting-edge mobile gaming and accelerated artificial intelligence (AI).
The chipset is slated to power upcoming high-tier smartphones from Honor, iQOO, Motorola, OPPO, realme and Xiaomi. Snapdragon 778G was developed to address the growing demand by global OEMs for more platform options in the high-tier, Kedar Kondap, vice president of product management, Qualcomm Technologies said during the company s annual 5G summit on Wednesday.

Realme is reportedly working on a smartphone that will equip the newly unveiled Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G processor. The development was revealed officially by the company a while after the processor was announced.
The Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G chipset is set to power the premium mid-range smartphones from brands like Realme, Xiaomi, Motorola, OPPO, and iQOO, among others. Although Realme didn t provide any specific information about the specs of the phone, it did say that the device will have a GT Mode and a new cooling system to offer a leap-forward performance to its users.

Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G SoC was launched at the chipmaker’s 5G Snapdragon Summit on Wednesday as a successor to the Snapdragon 768G. The new chip is based on 6nm process technology.

Qualcomm just announced Snapdragon 778G 5G Mobile Platform, the company’s new mid-range 5G SoC at the Qualcomm Snapdragon Tech Summit 2021. It is based on 6nm process technology, has Qualcomm Kryo 670 CPU with new architecture delivers up to 40% performance uplift and the Adreno 642L GPU is designed to deliver up to 40% faster graphics rendering compared to the previous generation, said the company. It has Qualcomm Spectra 570L triple ISP and 6th generation Qualcomm AI Engine with the Qualcomm Hexagon 770 processor delivering up to 12 TOPs AI performance, which is a 2x improvement compared to its predecessor.
