travelers on this holiday breathing a sigh of relief. finally southwest airlines flights are back to normal following a major computer ticketing glitch sunday that delayed hundreds of flights. nbc s tom costello reports for us from washington s reagan national airport. reporter: hi, kate. good day from reagan national airport and it is a much better day for passengers on board southwest airlines. the airline reporting that they have had a pretty smooth day today. no computer glitches and of course yesterday we saw the significant delays, 500 flights delayed at major airports including los angeles and phoenix and las vegas. with the longs snaking through the airports and out on to the sidewalks out on to the streets outside the airport terminals and some cases the line lasting for hours. several thousand people affected
analysis would speak to the entirety of what s been happening here and how severe this issue has been affecting all of their operations it would appear not just those flights or those communications with the faa, but it would seem literally the entire system. we have been watching the lines and the crowds grow there. live look at lax, and there was a point where it was kind of snaking around here at the curbside area. you can see some of those people spilling over, actually into the road part. tom, when it comes to these people, yes, it s good news that some of these flights are able to get back up again, but for these passengers waiting to check in even to check their bags, they ve got the long line outside, they ve got inside they have tsa security to get through and then to the gate and then their plane may not even be there to take off. it s just going to be a mess. i would love to tell you that it s not, but i think if you haven t yet headed out to the airport and you are flyi

along. they have now broken into the street. this is third avenue and we re headed north and taking a left down 94th street. they have been snaking through the city it. sounds like we re headed toward harlem. this crowd very upset that the death of two police officers has been used as an opportunity to try to stop the protests and they will continue to protest on what they see as police racism. something that nypd doesn t like being called. but i can tell you that the police and if just turn around here, brian, the number of police officers here is enormous and they are trying to keep the protesters on the sidewalks. they have broken on to the streets at this point. we are farther uptown so it is not as big of an issue where we were before on 5th avenue. erin. and miguel, what is the feeling you get, we were saying there were some chabts, at one point of hey, ho ho, the racist cops have got to go. what is the response of the
