The main focus of Prof. Sanjay Kumar Jha’s discussion was on the security scenario in the South Asian region with special focus on terrorism. He discussed the traditional and non-traditional security threats which have been haunting the South Asian region. He provided the comprehensive analysis of terrorism from various perspectives and pointed out that the South Asian region is one of the highly terrorism infested regions. He also discussed about the various forms of terrorism in the region and stated that in the last couple of decades, terrorism has been used as a tool to achieve the political objectives by the government of different countries in terms of proxy wars, separatist movements and insurgency attacks.
