West Jefferson Pike will add traffic signals by I-840 and Hickory Grove Road
SMYRNA The West Jefferson Pike widening project should improve commuter safety, officials said Friday while celebrating the project groundbreaking. It means a lot to me, said state Rep. Mike Sparks, a Smyrna Republican who used to own a car dealership on West Jefferson Pike. I ve seen countless wrecks, wrecks right out here in front of my former business.
Sparks joined other state and Smyrna officials Friday to commemorate the long-waited Jefferson Pike widening project. The existing two-lane road dealt with many fatalities, said Sparks, who expects conditions to improve once the state completes the widening work by an estimated July 2024 from Nissan Drive to Interstate 840.
