PORTLAND, Tenn. (WTVF) â Authorities say theyâre still investigating the circumstances surrounding the deaths of a woman and toddler inside a Portland home.
The Sumner County Sheriffâs Office identified the woman and child as 32-year-old Tiffany Spears and 15-month-old Nicholas Crowder.
Investigators said the preliminary results from the medical examiner did not reveal any âapparentâ causes of death, and they are awaiting further testing, which could take several weeks. The sheriffâs office said detectives did locate evidence which may âindicate that drugs could be a contributing factor.â
