reporting, in essence, doing his job in his final moments. but that s an important piece of evidence. we ve always wondered how it is that this person knew to be there, why this person was at a closed shopping mall at a 6:45 a.m. live broadcast. now, what we re showing you is an off the tube or off the screen still picture. the actual video is much clearer because it doesn t have all those reflections that you see, the yellow glare in the bottom and the glare in the middle that obscures part of what is apparently the person who fired these shots holding a handgun, aiming right at the cameraman just moments after the 6 to 8 shots were fired. we re not showing the entire sequence of video, but it s clearly the reporter and the interview person, the person she s interviewing, the head of the local chamber of commerce, did not know that this person was there.
alison parker and adam ward were both killed. there is a major police presence in the area around 30 to 40 officers already there. they responded almost immediately. members with bedford, frankly county and virginia state police all on the scene. police say as of right now they are continuing to search for the shooter and hoping to get a description out to the the incident remains under investigation. i want to bring in clint van zandt, msnbc contributor and former profiler and jim cavanaugh. let s ask what we re seeing here, a shopping mall at 6:45 in the morning during a live broadcast. you would think there would be a lot of not only the video that was being shown on the air but cameras all around the mall, right? i would agree. i think the cameras around the
