Susie âSueâ Atkins, loving wife of 66 years, mother, and grandmother left this Earth to be with her Lord and Savior on December 15, 2020 at the age of 87. Sue always placed others before herself, she had a servantâs heart and spent her life serving and caring for others. Some of the joys of Sueâs life still flourish in her garden, as she spent many hours using her green thumb to cultivate beautiful roses and plants of many kinds. She enjoyed preserving her gardenâs bounty by canning foods and passing those skills on to her children and grandchildren. Sundayâs were a special day for Sue as there was always family in her living room to visit and enjoy a meal, she had lovingly prepared. Sue had a heart of gratitude and as she would always say âIâve been blessed ten times over.â Sue is preceded in death by her daughter, Linda Cooper. She is survived by her loving husband, Rudolph Atkins, retired from the University of Tennessee;

JOHNSON, Waltirmore Sidney âPete,â age 80, of Sunnyside, passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by loved ones, on Wednesday December 9, 2020. He was born September 28, 1940 in Toppenish to Sidney âSidâ Waltirmore Johnson and Mildred âMillieâ Pantelef. He earned his GED while serving in the U.S. military. He served at Ft. Bragg, NC and in the Military Reserve, 1963-1969. He married Linda Fuchs November 15, 1969, and they shared 52 years together.
While Pete grew up helping on the family farm, he worked primarily as a carpenter throughout the Pacific Northwest for 50+ years. He was a man of many interests, including cars/hotrods, guns, hunting, motorcycles, cribbage and other card games, reading, was an avid observer of the stock market, and cherished spending time with his family and friends.
