SHARM EL-SHEIKH, EGYPT (November 14, 2022) At COP27, the World Resources Institute and partners launched the African Cities Water Adaptation Fund (ACWA Fund) with the aim of channeling $5 billion towards urban water resilience solutions in 100 African cities by 2032.
WRI’s Urban Water Resilience Initiative will lead a session on the role of blended finance to scale urban water resilience investments and adaptation action during a thematic day on Financing Climate Resilience through Investments in Water co-curated with the African Development Bank and Asian Development Bank.
This year, World Water Week is focused on “Seeing the unseen: the value of water”. Throughout the week, sessions will cover topics relating to food security and health, agriculture, technology, biodiversity and the climate crisis. World Water Week is curated by SIWI, but convened by world-leading organizations that share their latest insights.
