around? that could have been really serious? yeah, you know, the tornado is actually behind us in the video. the tornado destroyed a barn and that s what you see there in the video being hurled at us. it was a really scary situation. it definitely could have ended pretty badly. we just deafly got caught in a bad situation. where was this video taped? and how close was it behind you? this was video taped just northwest of union city, oklahoma. it s just west of oklahoma city. a tornado, when we re originally filming it is probably about a half mile to a mile west of us. we, you know, when the tornado got close, we got out of the path.
it was 15 minutes ago right after the press conference ended. allowing people to get outdoors again. the ban was lifted on people having to stay indoors. talking to a few neighbors. i was just actually doing an interview about one of them what it was like being indoors for the last 24 hours or so when we heard probably about 10 to 20 if not more gunshots go off. we stopped, we ran over here, we saw police flooding the scene. a lot of movement. we seen a constant stream of police cars with their sirens on, rushing towards what would appear to be the site, about a mile west of us. we re kind of being held in place right now. we can t go anywhere. we are on lockdown. yeah, it was pretty intense there. shepard: chris, boston has now returned to a state of alert as well. the city police department here in boston proper has sent out a tweet asking all boston residents to shelter in place as they ask them to do all day. and, frankly, they respected that request and did so. can you tell by
fighting as gadhafi continues to try to hold on? reporter: well, andrea, continues defiance from gadhafi. there are a number of fronts right now for the violence. a city west of the capital here in tripoli. there s a town in the west mountains. this is a mountain range that comes off the border with aljeer ya and tunisia. there s been a number of fights there been progadhafi forces and rebels in that region. we had heard a few days ago that the rebels had made some advance. it seems like gadhafi forces are striking back. the government tells us that a town 30 mile west of the capital that there was some violence there. they describe it as very small scale rebels taking over a check point just outside of the city. the rebels themselves opposition say that actually it was a larger movement, a more simm bombic movement to take back that town where there was a lot of intense fighting in material days of this uprising.
