Go out and then the commission have a responsibility they give us the responsibility, you know, to appropriate money. The mayor put out so much money to certain nonprofits. The supervisors approve of it and then we, the commission, still have to approve. I will caution that the mayor and the board are not allowed, nor do they give money to particular nonprofits. There is an entire bidding process. Money is allocated by those two entities to departments but then there is a bidding process that goes on and i would just add to what i said about the contracting process. The Controllers Office as well reviews the work that we do in our contracting and Programming Office to make sure we meet the standards that the city has set for contracting and there actually have been changes in the 9 1 2 years i have been here.
