Portland General Electric is encouraging more Oregonians to buy or lease an electric vehicle (EV) by launching a pilot program that provides up to a $500 rebate for residential customers to install a charger at home.
The program is open to customers who own or lease an EV. Income-eligible customers could qualify for up to a $1,000 rebate. Fueling electric vehicles at home is part of Oregon s clean energy future. We are excited to partner with our customers on this new residential charging pilot program to encourage electric vehicle adoption while at the same time helping to manage the grid during times of high demand. Recognizing that cost is often a barrier to electric vehicle ownership, Portland General Electric (NYSE: POR) today announced a pilot program that provides up to a $500 rebate for residential customers who own or lease an electric vehicle to install a charger at home. Income-eligible customers could qualify for up to a $1,000 rebate.
The new rebate pilot program also rewards customers who allow PGE to shift their EV home charger’s energy use away from high demand times, when prices are high, or renewable resources are less available.
