President , members of the house and senate, and distinguished elected officials, honored guests and fellow citizens. About 750 days ago Lieutenant Governor karen polito and i stood here to pledge with you and work with others to move the commonwealth forward and we have done just that. We built a bipartisan team, worked in partnership with the Led Legislature and looked for common ground. We worked to fix State Government, and passed groundbreaking legislation, and focused
Test. Test. Test. Senator portman . Thank you. And governor perry, thank you for your willingness to step up and serve again in another way and sacrifices that involves. I enjoyed our meeting. Its one on the couch with my colleague from minnesota. Sure. But it was interesting and we talked about a number of topics. One was the importance to my state and our nation of having a uranium enrichment capability and in ohio, we have a plant that produced enriched uranium until 2000. When president obama ran in 2008, he promised to accelerate that cleanup and just the opposite has happened. Every year, weve had to fight to keep the cleanup in place. Gone from 2024 to 2044 end date. Costing taxpayers by the way, billions more by stretching it out and not being more efficient about it. And im very disappointed in the department of energy for their inability to follow through on their commitments to the plan and frankly, its difficult for people who work there. They never know their next paycheck
Gave that interview about whether his comments opened the airline to more legal liability or not. How is that being received . Move out of the way here. Now we have dr. Daos daughter coming in along with the two attorneys. Theyre going to go up here in front of the reporters. Daos daughter sitting down as well as one of the attorneys representing him. And we expect this to begin momentarily so ill let them begin talking, and well go from there. I did not get the acronym you used . Freidt i know off super Truck Program and focused on getting more 10 miles mper gallon. How do you think it will help on timing and deliveries. It is really Exciting Technology and theyre early stages. Mr. Monje has talked about a couple. Technologies and trucks enable how they are being driven to be able to provide feedback to the driver how he or she able to drive efficiently. We are seeing technologies al w allowing us to be cost effectively identifying the conditions of the high value break. So we know what it is and what kind of conditions it is being subjected to and to be able to use autonomous technology, to be able to identify containers t thats coming in on a ship and able to synchronize the way they are off loaded to take advantage of the trucks or traffi
But i do have some questions about how you suggest it would be implemented. First of all, it says it would be charged on a prospective basis. Your budget also says mortgages insured under that title under the previous fiscal year. Is this prospective or rhett owe active . Its prospective from when its enacted. But the fee will be assessed at one point in the year, at the end of the year. I dont think ive seen the text youre looking at. I believe thats whats been described. Its going to be on transactions Going Forward. Its not going to be going backward. It states the fee would be calculated based on mortgages that were insured under this title during the previous fiscal year. Thats right. If we started it tomorrow, the fee would be assessed after that one year. And its talking about going backward to capture everything after it was enacted. Also under your proposal it says small lenders i think would get hit with a pretty hefty fee because of the complexity of the formula. Will you ba
