SBA, in consultation with the U.S. Treasury Department, reopened the Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) for First Draw and Second Draw PPP Loans in January of 2021.    On December 27, 2020, a $900 billion COVID-19 aid package was signed into law as part of the larger omnibus bill funding the federal government. Previously, only S/C-corporations, tribal businesses, and businesses with up to 500 employees could apply for loans when the program first launched last April.
