Stillwater trailer for the upcoming Matt Damon drama. Damon plays an American oil-rig worker in France that is trying to free his daughter (played by Abigail Breslin), who has been charged with murder. The Tom McCarthy-directed film releases July 30, 2021, so we’re just a few months away from it releasing in theaters.
Stillwater focuses on Bill Baker (Damon), an American oil-rig roughneck from Oklahoma who travels to Marseille to visit his estranged daughter, who is in prison for a murder she claims she did not commit. Confronted with language barriers, cultural differences, and a complicated legal system, Bill builds a new life for himself in France as he makes it his personal mission to exonerate his daughter.
